Nap Room drops Gaslight single and Music Video
Nap Room, the brainchild of Indonesian singer-songwriter Josephine Tansara and Sri Lankan-American producer Mithunder, is a Brooklyn based duo that came together over a shared love for dreamy sonic textures, deep grooves, and Asian food. The pair draws from neo-soul, psychedelia, and house music, diving into the fluidity of genres and exploring themes like love, heartbreak, and identity.
The single is accompanied by a music video directed by Zack Grant and shot by Robert Cauble. The video follows a main character navigating the emotions surrounding a revelation of infidelity—a situation she sensed but dismissed due to past experiences of being gaslit.
Gaslight is a rhythmic anthem that explores the themes of self-doubt and indecision. Born during an inspired jam session during the early stages of the pandemic, the song contrasts bright sonics and an irresistibly fun groove against lyrics about manipulation and deception.
